Another great day at the slope with friends for another Winter Cup competition. I admit I went with some trepidation because the weather forecast predicted very cold temperatures and winds at the FAI maximum limit of 25 m/s, but in the end, it wasn't like that at all. The wind gradually calmed down throughout the day, blowing between 18 m/s and 8 m/s, and the temperature was quite bearable thanks to the sunshine. The gliders were ballasted between 2.9 kg and 4.1 kg depending on the time of day and the pilots. The competition quickly turned into a duel between Mathieu and me. I finally took the lead and won the competition. Pascal completed the podium. Incidentally, I achieved the best time of the day with 30.49 seconds.
I flew my Wasabi 2 throughout the competition, increasing the ballast to 3.9 kg at the hottest part of the day. A big thank you to Joël for organizing this winter cup. The last event is at the beginning of March, then the official season will begin.
